The game's combat is fun, it's fun to be challenged by it on a higher difficulty setting, but the way some fights are so obnoxious to die on makes me feel like they just designed the game assuming the player would rarely die and didn't actually consider that some people might want a challenge or something. Not long ones, just a few seconds, but it's still really obnoxious and still just inexcusable garbage design, in my opinion, and it makes the game worse. So the game has a ton of fights that have short dialogue or cutscenes that need to be rewatched every time you die. the ones that you'd most want to skip because they replay every time you die) are not skippable.
